- APV - Advanced Pilot Valve
- DMA - District Managed Area
- Damper - an adjustable needle valve that restricts flow into a PRV control space
- Fixed Orifice - A defined hydraulic restriction in the APV hydraulic circuit
- PMA - Pressure Managed Area
- PRV - Pressure Reducing Valve
- P1 - Inlet pressure to a PRV ("upstream pressure")
- P2 - Outlet pressure from a PRV ("downstream pressure")
- P3 - Critical Point Pressure, remote from the PRV in a DMA
- Restriction block - The i2O Water housing that contains both a fixed orifice and a damper
- Slot - An i2O-specific measure of APV motor movement
