Enabling decaying alarms feature allows users to monitor their water network in the critical period following an alarm, by causing the logger to upload data at pre-defined intervals following an alarm condition.
To enable Decaying alarms on a logger, select the logger location on the tree, select Configuration>Alarms and check the Decaying alarms tick-box below the alarm settings table. Decaying alarms are enabled on all alarms that have been configured on that logger, it is not possible to set on individual alarms.
After an alarm has been triggered, and where an alarm condition remains active, automatic dialups will be triggered at periods of 30 min, 30 min, 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h after the alarm. See below for an example:
If an alarm condition is removed (i.e. returns to normal) during the decaying alarms period, further dial-ups are cancelled and instead a single further dial-up occurs 2 hours after the return-to-normal.
During and after the decaying alarms period, all scheduled dialups continue as normal.
Decaying alarms are available on all Logger 14 and Logger 17. For logger 14 a firmware upgrade may be required; contact Technical Support to request a remote upgrade.
