Overview
i2O Water PRV Controllers and Pressure Loggers can send SMS (text) alarms to a nominated mobile phone or an email to a key contact. The alarms tell you that something has happened that is outside of the normal defined operating parameters and should always be viewed and investigated where necessary. The most important alarms are the ones that indicate that P3 pressure (critical point) is too low under alarm LL or too high over the alarm HH. These alarms should always be investigated to understand the cause.
Alarm Categories
Alarms are categorised into two main groups:
L (Low Alarms) and H (High Alarms): These alarms are raised based on data received in the software system hence are referred to as ‘software alarms’. They are generated when the data exceeds a High or Low threshold, but does not exceed the extreme thresholds, for which they are considered warning alarms.
LL (Low Low alarms) y HH (High High alarms): These alarms are registered by the hardware device (Controller or Logger), without relying on the software system. These are therefore referred to as ‘hardware alarms’. Because these alarms are generated when the recorded data is above the upper extreme High or below the lower extreme Low, they are considered critical alarms that require user review or research.
Alarm Thresholds
Alarm thresholds can be set using historical data or values that are appropriate for your network configuration. You can enter values for thresholds alarms L, H, LL and HH:
Email, SMS or Dial-up Notifications
There is also an option to receive notifications from the critical alarms HH and LL by eMail, SMS and dial up notifications in the platform, based on your requirements. It is important to enter a valid SMS number in order to enable the notifications.
