i2O Water PRV Controllers and Pressure Loggers can send SMS (text) alarms to a nominated mobile phone. The alarms tell you that something has happened that is outside of the normal defined operating parameters and should always be viewed and investigated where necessary. The most important alarms are the ones that indicate that P3 pressure (critical point) is too low or too high. These alarms should always be investigated to understand the cause.
Alarms are categorised into two main groups:
L/H – Low and High Alarms: These alarms are raised based on data received in the software system hence are refered to as ‘software alarms’
LL/HH – Low low and High high:These alarms are registered by the hardware device (Controller or Logger), without relying on the software system. These are therefore refered to as ‘hardware alarms’
Alarm thresholds can be set using values that are appropriate for your network configuration. You can enter values for L/H and LL/HH alarms:
Email, SMS or Dial-up Notifications
There is also an option to receive eMail, SMS and dial up notifications based on your requirements. It is important to note that a valid SMS number MUST be entered in order to enable email notifications.
